Trams
Tram stops nearby are:
- Stop 11 Collins Street (Nicholson Street / Gertrude Street) for trams 86 and 96 (approx. 300m). Stops are not level access but are serviced by low-floor trams.
- The free City Circle Tram goes to Victoria Parade, which is one stop before the Museum. It is approx. 600m walk from Victoria Parade stop to Melbourne Museum.

Car Parking
Melbourne Museum has a basement car park that is open from 5:30am to midnight daily. Entry is via either Rathdowne Street or Nicholson Street. Please note the car park has a height restriction of 2.15m.
The Museum car park contains several accessible parking spaces on Levels P1 and P2, including pram parking. The parking spaces on Level P2 are closest to the lift.
There is a lift from the car park to the Museum foyer and ticket booth.

The best spot for drop off and pick-ups is on Rathdowne Street adjacent to the plaza (between the Museum and the Royal Exhibition Building.

Accessibility
Entry to the Museum foyer is from the plaza between Melbourne Museum and the Royal Exhibition Building into the venue foyer.
For step-free/wheelchair access:
- The Theatre is on the lower ground level, which is accessed via a lift or escalator from the museum foyer.
- Once at the bottom of the escalator turn right
- The Theatre is on the left-hand side of the corridor and should be visible from the base of the escalator.
Accessible seating is available on the right-hand side and the left-hand-side of the performance space, midway along the room (approx. halfway up the raked seating).

Lower Ground Level (Theatre level): There are two accessible bathrooms, two baby change spaces and a gender neutral bathroom located in the vicinity of the Theatre.
Ground Level (Lobby level): multiple bathrooms with accessible bathrooms, baby change space and gender neutral bathrooms available.
Food & Beverages
The Museum Market Cafe on the Ground Level is open during Museum opening hours with a variety of food and beverages.
