The fortyfivedownstairs theatre space is in the basement. The venue main entrance is via Flinders Lane:
- Enter 45 Flinders Lane. You will enter a corridor, with the entrance to the restaurant Cumulus on your left.
- Straight ahead of you the corridor splits in two; the lefthand side leads to the Arc One gallery, the right hand side leads to a descending staircase. Proceed to the right and down the staircase.
- The staircase is approximately sixty steps in length with multiple landings.
- On the second landing down you will find a foyer space where the venue bar will be located.
- Continue to the bottom of the stairs and the performance space will be on your left.
For step-free/wheelchair access:
- Enter Sparks Lane, via Flinders Street, in between Spring Street and Exhibition Street.
- Sparks Lane ends in a ‘T’ intersection with a metal roller door directly ahead. To the left of the roller door is a metal fence enclosing a fire escape. The Stage Door is on the other side of this fence, accessed via a short concrete ramp.
- On arrival, press the Ring Doorbell button, located on the left hand side of the doorframe. This will alert front of house staff to your arrival. An usher will come down to greet you and ensure your are settled inside the theatre.
- Accessible seating is available on the right hand side of the performance space, near the accessible entrance.
Please be aware that there is no parking available at the Sparks Lane entrance. Please see the Transport Information section above for options.
For patrons using a wheelchair or mobility scooter, please be advised that the gate accommodates measurements of up to 80cm wide by 80cm long to safely move through the passage.
Bathroom Detail
There are bathrooms available within the performance space and the foyer/ gallery space. There is an accessible bathroom available in the performance space but not in the foyer/ gallery space.
Bar & Restaraunt
There are numerous cafes and restaurants near the venue on Flinders Lane, including Cumulus and Fonda. There will be a pop up bar in the venue foyer/ gallery space.
